  • 2017-2018 Calendar Highlights

    December 12, 2016

There are several priorities that influence the creation of the school calendar, including: providing regular breaks for families throughout the school year to create small pockets of rest and margin, meeting accreditation standards for the number of school days, and attempting to balance the two semesters. Additionally, we hope to maintain the traditions of our calendar, including a full week off for Thanksgiving, two weeks at Christmas, a full week plus a travel day for spring break, and our observation of Good Friday and the Monday following Easter. Finally, everyone seems to have a brighter outlook on the year when our last day of school falls before Memorial Day weekend. We strive to send this to you each year in the month of December so you can begin long-range planning for your family, which we hope is helpful to you. Thank you for your continued support of the school and for all you do to help us change the lives of children each day. It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this community. • CAPture the Warmth

    December 5, 2016

On November 17, Georgia Gives Day, Teen Wings for Mercy Care sponsored an event called CAPture the Warmth. 130 Wesleyan School students volunteered over 265 hours collecting over 800 gifts of warmth, wrapping 82 blankets, making 210 scarves, and assembling over 300 gift bags of socks, snacks, hygiene products, and personal notes of encouragement for Atlanta's homeless and underserved. Mercy Care, a network of primary care clinics that serves Atlanta's most vulnerable, will distribute the 82 blankets to medically fragile homeless men as they enter Merct Care's recuperative care program—an alternative to returning to the streets following discharge from the hospital. The scarves along with the gifts of warmth gathered at the Teen Wings event will be distributed to the homeless at Mercy Care's candlelight vigil on December 21 where those who have died while homeless in 2016 are remembered by name. Mercy Care’s Street Medicine teams will distribute the gift bags as they continue to provide medical care to the homeless each week. We are thankful for the Wesleyan student volunteers who contributed their time to this cause! Click the "Read More" button for additional photos from the event!

  • Christmas Ornaments - Last Chance

    December 5, 2016

Is your tree missing the 2016 Wesleyan ornament? It is not too late to get one for your tree or to start your child on their own collection of Wesleyan ornaments. This year’s ornament was designed by junior, Emily Willis. The ornament beautifully displays Philippians 2:7 - “He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness.” Her design is etched in round, beveled optic crystal. Each ornament is $20 and come gift-wrapped in a gift box for safe handling and storage. There is a limited supply, so click here to order your ornament online today. We also have a few ornaments left from 2015 still available for purchase. Ornaments purchased online will be delivered to your oldest student in the front office. You will be notified by email when they are delivered. For more information, contact Bethany Davidson or Kirsten Bowen.
