    Wesleyan Honored By Touchdown Club of Gwinnett

    The Wesleyan football program received the Sports Medicine South Beyond Better Award for outstanding leadership and character at the Touchdown Club of Gwinnett annual banquet on Monday night. The award is given to a program that goes beyond the call of duty to demonstrate humility and strong character through good works in addition to excellence on the field. Congratulations to the following individuals who received awards: Harrison Cook (All-County 2nd Team), Sam Gottlich (Ken Maloof Award - Team Before Self), Grant Frerking (Scholar Athlete), Stanley Davenport (Tally Johnson Award - Assistant Coach of the Year), and Susan Frerking (Dave Hunter Award - Community Service).     Wesleyan Hosts Special K's Basketball

    Athletes from the Special K's Basketball Team with Special Olympics spent time with the Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams at Wesleyan on Saturday morning.     Ward, Gustafson Make College Choices

    Congratulations to Jordan Ward and Justin Gustafson who have made commitments to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. Ward is headed to Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida and Gustafson will play for the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennnessee. See story here.

    Six Wrestlers Place at Gwinnett County Championships

    Congratulations to the Wesleyan Mat Wolves as they finished 5th at the county wrestling championships over the weekend. Grant Marshall led the team as he became Wesleyan’s first county wrestling champion since Kelby Smith in 2008. Other county place winners for the Wolves were Chapman Pendery (2nd), Harrison Dearth (3rd), Ben Connor (4th), William Delk (5th), and George Bielan (6th). See story here.

    Successful Weekend for Wesleyan Swim and Dive

    The Varsity Boys and Girls Swim and Dive teams each finished in 3rd place at the Chamblee-Lakeside Invitational. James Claffey earned a new state cut in the 200 free, finishing in 2nd place overall, and Abby Gardner took first place in the 50 freestyle. At the Marist Invitational, the Middle School boys placed 8th out of 23 teams and the girls finished in 11th place in a pool of 27 teams. See full meet results here: Varsity, MS.

    Marshall Nominated for Athlete of the Week

    Grant Marshall has been nominated for the Fans Choice Athlete of the Week by the Gwinnett Daily Post. Marshall won the 170 pound divison at the Gwinnett County Championships on Saturday, becoming the first county champion for Wesleyan since 2008. Click here to vote.

    Varsity Boys Basketball Splits Over the Weekend

    The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Mt. Vernon on Friday evening at Wesleyan to improve to 3-0 in region play, but fell to a strong St. Pius team on Saturday. Against St. Pius, Christian McClean had 19 points, Sean McDonough finished with 14 points, and Grant Summers dished out 8 assists. See recap here.

    JV Girls Basketball Improves to 6-0

    The JV Girls Basketball team defeated Morgan County and St. Pius over the weekend. Against Morgan County, Lauren Hill led the team with 7 steals. In the win over St. Pius, Callie Weaver took 2 charges, Maya Timberlake grabbed 12 rebounds, and Izzy Larsen had 17 points.
